Execution and Evaluation

Joanne M.

“Through my experience working on the fourth OCP, I now know there is a strategic plan to ensure that my outcome is the very best. I no longer feel alone when I walk into the cancer centre because I know there are a lot of people working very hard on behalf of all cancer patients in Ontario.”

This strategic plan will be supported by a detailed operating plan and annual business plans, and will be carefully evaluated.

Cancer Care Ontario is developing performance indicators and targets to measure progress against this plan. Each goal includes “By 2019” statements that reflect our commitment to the plan's overall impact. Our success will be measured against these statements. Ongoing evaluation allows us to adjust our approach as circumstances require.

Cancer Care Ontario is accountable to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, our partners and the people of Ontario for the fulfillment of commitments in this plan. Our progress is reported through several mechanisms, including annual reports, quarterly and special program reports and the Cancer System Quality Index.
